THE PARROT
I breathed through my nose on the hot sunny day. The sun burning down caused sweat to tear down my face. My babysitter and I were playing basketball. It was the afternoon and I was getting tired.  I saw many birds flying. There was so many.  I turned around when I heard a chirp. I gazed up and saw…
In front of me a green winged bird that has a yellow stomach with a black beak. As I saw that amazing bird, a million thoughts raced through my head.  First, can I keep it? Honestly, that was my main thought. I lifted up my left foot and took off running into my house. I went to the pantry and got crackers. When I got back, I held up a cracker and the black beak moved towards the cracker. The bird took the cracker by the beak then I let go.  Next the bird took the cracker in it’s claws and nibbled on it. It was then that I discovered that the bird was a parrot. It had a collar looping around his right ankle it was coded with numbers a 7,6,8,9,1,3,2,1
“Hey Heather. Look!” I screamed.
“What, what, Aidan!” replied Heather.
“A, A, A, A,” I said.  I stood there just repeating it lots of times but unable to say it. I felt sweat rolling down my head, my mouth was open but nothing came out. I felt a shadow roll over my back. I turned around to see my baby sitter staring at what I could not say.
“OMG,” she said.
“CRACKERS!” I yelled.
“What Aidan?” She said.
“It’s the perfect name.” I said. Heather and I stood there. She was taking pictures of the bird. I went to bed an hour later. In the morning, I couldn't find the bird. I told my whole 4th grade class about the bird..
After school my little sister, babysitter and I looked for the bird. We found it in another tree! I ran inside to get a bowl. I filled the bowl with water and ran outside. I held the bowl up to him. He took a lick then raised his little tiny tiny body and opened his mouth. I thought he was going to jump but instead he BIT ME. I ran inside and laid down.
I got off the couch and look out the window. I saw a silver Land Rover roll over the driveway. It was getting  dark out.
A minute later, my mom race through the door “she’s here!”
“Who is here?”
“The owner of the parrot,” she said.
We went outside to get the parrot we couldn’t find it in the green tree or the bush tree.
“Look. There he is.  Let’s go,” I yelled.
We raced after the parrot. It was getting windy. The bird flew through the wind and onto another tree. The bird would not move from the tree. The wind was blowing. The owner of the bird called her husband. A couple minutes later he arrived. We kept trying to get the parrot down. We couldn’t get the bird to leave the tree. We climbed ladders to reach the parrot. We tried to get it down by offering it crackers. Finally, we gave up. The owners will come back and pick the parrot up tomorrow. I went into the house and went to bed. It was very late.
The next morning the owner came over early and got the bird before I woke up. I can’t tell all the detail because I was still asleep.
(:!THE END!:)
