See ya’! See ya’! See ya’!
BANG!! It´s out of here!! Jason trotted around the field with a huge smile on his face.
“Grand slam for Jason Smith!!” cried the announcer. The crowd roared! He pointed to the ball over the fence, then that made the crowd even louder!
“THAT’S GAME!” cried the umpire.
“Whoo!” he shouted doing the Ickey Shuffle.
“Nice job Jason,” said his freaky coach. His coach was ugly. And I mean ugly. If you stuck his face in a blender he would look 10 times better when he comes out.
POW! Jason's older brother Jek rolled in pain. He was moaning. “Ughhhh!” Jek choked out. “Call the ambulance,” yelled another football player.
Meanwhile Jason's victory celebration was cut short when his mom texted him what happened. He rushed to the hospital as fast as his legs could carry him. Luckily the hospital was just down the road. BEEEEEEEP!!! went all the cars.
“Sorry, my brother is in trouble,” Jason yelled back at them. He saw the big medical billboard, he was near.
He ran in through the big double doors. “I hate this place,” he said under his breath. Jason had tons of bad memories with his dairy allergic reactions. He walked up to the front desk.
“Hi I’m looking for Jaxon Smith,” Jason said. “Room 11 on the second floor,” said the lady at the front desk. Jason ran as fast as he could. No time to be lazy on elevators, he thought. He decided to take the stairs.
Room 5, room 6, room 8, room 9, room 11.!! He busted through the door, but to his surprise, the room was empty. “NOOOOOOOOOOO!!” he screamed.
“Shush,” said a nurse in the hallway. “Sorry,” he replied back.
“ Jason is that you?” said a voice behind the curtain.
Jason ripped the curtain out of the way and jumped on him. Then he exclaimed, “Are you alright?!”
“I was before you came here,” Jek groaned angrily.
“Sorry,” Jason said and he really meant it.
“Soooo,” Jason prompted, “What happened?”
“Oh nothing, I just got overtired-” he paused, - “WHAT DO YOU THINK?!!?”
“Gosh, sorry,” he replied. His mom came in with tears in her eyes. She gave Jek the biggest hug ever.
“How did your game go Jason?” asked his mom with another sob.
“Oh, that went well..” He told them every single detail and acted out all the important parts.
“Mom, why were you crying when you came in here?” Jason asked.
“Well, if you must know, Jek needs to have surgery as soon as possible; tomorrow at 7:31 a.m. sharp.”
“ BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!! went one of the machines.
“Oh my gosh!” Ma’am I'm going to have to ask you to leave,” said the nurse. His mom hesitated, then said, “Fine.” Jek was out cold.
Meanwhile in the lobby Jason and his mom were playing cards “Mom, earth to mom” Jason said. next to them was a lady knitting. A doctor came and told something to her that Jason couldn’t hear, but his mom did and it must of been bad because it caused the lady to run out the door and his mom to start freaking out.
“Look mom, it's our doctor,” he came and gave them the news.
“So, Jek will be alright but we need to push the surgery up to 10:15” That was fifteen minutes from Jason's big game. but he didn’t care. His brother needed him twice as much as his team did.
That night he couldn’t sleep a wink. He tossed and turned all night long.
“Should I stay with Jek, or got to the biggest game of the year.” He did that all night long then finally he made the decision to stay with Jek.
That morning he woke up really early then left a note for his mom to see on the table.
To: Mom, 9/13/12
Off to the hospital, see you later. Don't get worried.
Jason
Jason jumped on his bike and peddled as fast as a cheetah. His bike went so fast he thought he would get pulled over by a nearby cop.
“Got to get there,.” he kept saying to himself. Sure enough, he did get there. Lucky him it was only 10 miles away from his house. When he saw the huge medical billboard, he knew he could get there in time. He ran up to the elevator thinking he had more time then he really did. But really, it was already l0:30. He walked into the room, then to his surprise he saw the ugliest doctor in history.
“Hello Jason,” said Doctor Hawthorn. Doctor Hawthorn was a doctor that was short, bald, but had a huge melon head and two brown eyes that seemed to cross. Not to mention, but he spits a lot when he talks.
“Hey Doctor Hawthorn,” Jason said walking slowly out of the room. “I’ll be in the lobby if you need me.” The surgery was much quicker than he thought. As a total the surgery was only 2 and a half hours.
He walked in the room Jek was awake and eating his food...peas OJ. and some Jello. He also had some other shapes on the lunch tray, but they were hard to make out.
“Hey Jek.” His real name was Jaxon but everyone called him Jek.
“Hey Jason,” said Jaxon. There was a long pause. Neither one of them talked for about 15 minutes. Their mom came in with her high heels clicking as she walked. She walked in and gave Jek the biggest hug ever.
“Hey, how did your game go Jason?” asked Jek.
“Oh I didn't go.” Jason replied “I knew you needed me much more than my team did. Jek took a long drink of orange juice. Jek had a confused look on his face. It was a “why did you do that look”.
He read that look and said, “Brothers should stick together through thick and thin.”
“Jason! I just realized something! If you hurry you might be able to make the last inning of your baseball game!” Jek shouted at him.
“Thanks Jaxon!” That was the first time he ever called him by his real name. He grabbed his backpack filled with his baseball uniform that he forgot yesterday. But one thing he had forgotten was his baseball bag.
Jason hurried to the bathroom, then got changed as quickly as possible. He sprinted out the door hopped onto his bike then peddled with the remaining energy left. He made it, but he was up to bat right away. It was 3-0, two outs, bases loaded. Ian, Cam, and Charlie were on base. He grabbed Cam’s nice new bat. He hoped he wouldn't strangle him, mainly because he was very fond of his bats. Instead he dropped that bat, then picked up his old wooden one that he forgot yesterday.
He went up to bat, called time, then when he was ready, the pitch came in rapidly. He remembered what his older brother had told him.
“The faster the pitch comes in, the farther you can hit the ball.” He swung then…. WA-POW!!!!! SNAP! the bat broke in half. GRAND-SLAM!! SEE YA’! SEE YA’! SEE YA’!
