Martin Luther King, Jr.

In the video and text about Martin Luther King Jr, he wanted and fought peacefully for equal rights between blacks and whites. Martin Luther King Jr. is brave.

My first reason Martin Luther King Jr. is brave because in the video about Martin Luther King Jr., people throw rocks and yell at him. Martin Luther King Jr. never fought  back. He said, “Love drives out hate.” Even when his family was in danger, he never fought back. This shows Martin Luther King Jr. is brave because people wanted to hurt him but he didn't want to hurt them back.

Another reason Martin Luther King Jr. is brave is because in the text about Martin Luther King Jr. he led protests for equal rights between blacks and whites. He got arrested many times for doing this. This didn’t stop Martin. He kept protesting and giving speeches about equal rights. This shows he is brave because he is getting arrested many times just for equal rights and just kept protesting for what he believed.

My last reason Martin Luther King Jr. is brave is because in the text about Martin Luther King Jr., he led boycotts. He never boycotted violently, he always did it peacefully.  One famous boycott he led was a bus boycott. A boycott is when someone stops using something to show what they think about it. He and other blacks held the bus boycott for over 1 year! This shows bravery because if you're in a boycott you stop using resources that you use to help you in your everyday life. If you don’t use these resources it can make your life harder.

These are just a few reasons Martin Luther King Jr. is brave. He won the Nobel peace prize. He led marches, protests, boycotts, and speeches all for equal rights. Martin Luther King Jr. was a very determined man.
