Carter J.

Best Part About My Baseball Career
The Best Night in the Summer

I was up 3 balls and 2 strikes. Easton was down one run. I wanted to have a big hit to help the team to win. Then the pitcher came into his set about to pitch the ball, a fastball right down the middle. “CRACK!” The ball soared to the outfielder. The pitcher was shocked how the ball was about to fly over the fence. There was no doubt I hit a homerun. The coach screamed,”HOME RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” as I touched home plate with my dirty cleat. Yes I just hit a homerun! I could not believe it. That moment is very special in my life.

The baseball field had dust lifting up off the ground. My team started to give me high fives. As I got my catching gear on, my Mom and Dad showed up with my dog Jake. Jake is a foxhound. He is the best dog ever. Once he saw me he jumped on me. I said, ”Hi Jake. How are you buddy?” He began to bark. Jake has a very interesting color. Yellow, with a stripe of white on his back. He has dark brown eyes.

My Dad asked, ”Any good hits at all?”

I was going to shock him. “How does a home run sound?” I called.

He said,” HOLY COW, THAT’S GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!” Then, before we knew it, we were up 10 to 7. I was in the infield at shortstop. There was a high pop up. It was so hard to see it in the sunlight. I hoped the pitcher caught it. I heard “OUT!” It was the umpire, the pitcher caught it. There was 1 out. We were so close to the championship. “Come on hit it to me!” I groaned. Then wham, right back at me I stuck my glove out and caught it. “Yes!” I yelled.

“You are OUT!” yelled the umpire.

The next hitter hit a nice single. We knew he was going to steal a base on us, so we got ready. The catcher got up as the pitch came in. We yelled “going!’’ The ball sailed in caught it and tagged the runner.

“You're OUT!”
“YES!!!!!!! We WON!” We said good game to the other team and then the next morning was the championship against Trumbull. To celebrate we went to the  Easton Carnival. That was one of my favorite nights I have ever had. A Home run a tag to win the game. That was so cool. But not for my sister she got stung by a bee. But that is ok. I was so happy to see my teammates at the carnival. We were going to win big tomorrow. We have beat this team before so let's beat them again. I wondered what will happen tomorrow morning at the game. Lets hope we win.

Finale score Easton,7, Trumbull 10. That was a very sad day for me. We had the lead then bang they

came right back at us.
