A Half day Schedule
First, you arrive at school.
You need to put your bag in your cubby and unpack what is inside. Your coat is hung in the cubby with your backpack. The home folder that you took out of your bag goes to your desk with you. As you walk to your desk you look at the white board. The directions for morning work is written on it.
Next, you do morning work. After morning work the class does a greeting. Then, you go to specials. Specials are P.E., Media, Music, and Art.
After, you have read aloud and snack.
During this time the teacher reads chapter books. The class quietly eats snack while listening to the book.
Finally, you have reading. During reading you read partner books with your reading partner. You jot down notes in your notebook. Your partner discusses the book with you too. After reading you have math and lunch. When you come back for lunch it is time for dismissal.
Printing vs. Cursive
Printing is how you learn to write in kindergarten. You form letters with a lot of straight lines and you can pick up your pencil. Cursive you learn in third grade and it takes some time to learn. There are more curves in cursive and you don’t pick up your pencil. The letters flow on the line and most of the letters are attached in each word. Printing is easier to read than cursive because you may not know the letters in cursive.
