What a Day That Was
Downstairs in a house, a small man made a loud rattle. Boom! He got caught in the trap. A boy woke up. He said, “Are you a leprechaun?” The wee man answered with an angry face, “Yes, I am, boy, now get me out of this!”
The boy said, “How it works is I get my gold, then I’ll set you free.”
The leprechaun said, “I can’t give you it.” The boy answered with a curious, “Why not?” The leprechaun replied, “Because it is at the end of the rainbow. The boy said, “Oh, fine! I will take you out.” So he did. They went outside and the leprechaun sang a song:
“Help, help!
I need help...
from the other leprechauns!”
All of a sudden leprechauns came out of every corner. They circled him. The boy was so amazed that he dropped the leprechaun. Instantly, they all disappeared. There was a bag of gold with a note that said, “Happy St. Patrick’s Day!” What a day that was!
