One Hungry Shark

Jake was finishing his dinner when he saw something brown pass by the window.  Then he saw 2 gumdrops fly by!  Jake wanted to see what had thrown the two gumdrops.  He went outside and was so surprised when he saw a gingerbread man!  Jake said, “Hi,” to the gingerbread man.  The gingerbread man said, “Do you want to explore the forest with me?  Jake answered, “Yes!”  When they were in the forest they found a trail of candies.  “Do you know where this trail leads to?” Jake asked the gingerbread man.  “I don’t know,” he admitted, “But I sure do want to find out.”  So they followed the trail until they found a river.  “I guess this trail doesn’t lead anywhere,” the gingerbread man said.  Suddenly they heard a sound coming from the river.  Next they saw a fin in the water.  Out of the water came a shark.  “Don’t worry, I won’t eat you,” said the shark.  “Do you need help getting across the river?  But before Jake could say anything, the gingerbread man said, “Yes!”  So they both jumped on the shark’s back.  The gingerbread man was in the front.  He fell forward and the shark tried to bite him, but at the exact right time another gingerbread man named Will came swinging from a vine and grabbed the gingerbread man and Jake grabbed the vine.  They were all swinging toward land, and all landed safely.  Jake and the gingerbread man introduced themselves.  Will said, “I come from a magical place full of gingerbread men and women.  The gingerbread man said, “I want to come with you to your magical place.  Will said, “Okay.”  Both gingerbread men said goodbye to Jake and went to the magical place.  Jake ran out of the woods and went home.  “I will never forget that gingerbread man and Will,” said Jake as he laid on his bed ready for sleep.  “And somewhere there is a very hungry shark.”
