A Hundred Branches
I decided to take a walk with my family across the thick woods. We saw strange signs made of candy along the way. “I wonder what those are?” I said. Finally, we saw a lot of gingerbread. I heard a crunch. Branches were falling. We raced out of the woods as fast as we could. A gingerbread man appeared out of nowhere. He said, “Can you help us? I heard our friend, Friendly Fox, is trapped under one hundred branches. He’s at the river.” We walked all the way to the river. I saw Friendly Fox trapped under one hundred branches. But how to get him out?
I went into the wilderness to find some animals that could help lift the branches. I saw a raccoon. I asked him if he could help. Back at the river, the raccoon cleared all of the one hundred branches. I explained to Friendly Fox that the gingerbread men needed help clearing the branches in their city. As soon as we reached Gingerbread City, the gingerbread men welcomed Friendly Fox. The gingerbread men waited quietly. Whoosh! The branches flew away as the animals blew them away. I thanked the animals for helping, and then Friendly Fox explained what had happened. “I saw someone wiggle the ree, and then one hundred branches fell on my head,” he said. The gingerbread man stepped forward. “I also saw the same thing. A wiggle of the tree, then these branches fell.
After we said goodbye to our new friends, we headed home. I’ll never forget the time I saw Gingerbread City. I was so glad Friendly Fox was able to save the city.
