The clink of the harness.
There is no turning back.
You take a deep breath and grab the sides.
The faces flash as you slowly move forward.
The light blinds you as you continue climbing.
Click, click, click, the chains rattle, bringing you up.
The Cool Breeze is a lion.
It Roars and rattles.
You suddenly feel sick but full of excitement.
You reach the top of the climb.
The people below look like ants.
Your stomach is empty but is filled with butterflies.
Soon, you feel a drop and you're pulled downwards, unable to breathe.
You rise again and feel like an astronaut on the moon.
Gravity no longer exists.
You feel weightless.
The brain has no time to process what's happening.
The only thing your eyes can see is the person next to you.
The blur of blue and black is everywhere.
Your body feels uneasy.
Loops and turns, Loops and turns, you never want this to end.
But then the brakes slam.
You jerk forward.
Your harness goes into your gut.
It hurts for a bit.
You leave and miss the ride.
Then someone says,
“Let's ride this again.”
