Chapter 1 Equipment
Head Gear
There are is a average amount of gear in lacrosse. First I’m going to tell you about head gear. Head gear is the safety equipment on the head. When you talk about lacrosse headgear the first thing that pops out in your head is a helmet. But now there’s a certain type of helmet. In 2014 they made a helmet with padding. What will the padding look like? If you’ve seen a football helmet do you see where they have the white stuff near the brain. That is almost the same padding. Why did they make the rule about the padding? They did this to lower the chance of concussions. What happens if I don’t have padding in my helmet? Well you're still allowed to play but there’s a average chance of a concussion. So I would suggest to have a helmet with padding. But you have to have a chin guard.
Stick
The most important thing you need to know is that the lacrosse stick. The lacrosse stick isn’t one ordinary stick you find in the woods. A lacrosse stick will look like a tiny pole and a little net at the beginning. The stick is the most important thing in the game. It’s the most important thing because that’s how you pass carry the ball ,cradle ,shoot and scoop. But in 2016 field lacrosse you can’t have a v in the stick. The v will look like an upside down strings going up and down. They added this rule because with the v in the stick it’s to hard for the defense to get the ball out of the opponents. Opponents are the people you're going against. You also need a chest gear that doesn’t just cover your chest but it also covers your back and a little over the chest and just under the neck. And it also covers the heart. They have this so you don’t hurt your back. And not to hurt your chest. But the chest gear does not cover the stomach. They don’t do this because it’s least likely to get hit the stomach. And it doesn’t cover the lower
Arm guards
The arm guards end near the elbow. The arm guards are used to not get hit with the shaft of the stick. The arm guards protect the arm from damage. The gloves are also needed. They might not seem important but they are. Lacrosse gloves are thicker than ordinary gloves. There also harder than normal gloves also known as ordinary gloves. These gloves protect your hands from hits on the hand from another person's stick or body. And when you're playing on turf it doesn’t hurt to put your hand deep in the turf to get up. Well, that’s all you need to know about lower part equipment. Now i’ll let you know about how much of that equipment you need. Do you know about how much equipment you need for each equipment?
Do you know about how much equipment you need for each equipment? Well, let's start off with the helmet. If I were you I would get two helmets. Average helmets are about 15 to 30 dollars. But you can’t tell the difference between special helmets and normal helmets. The most a helmets can get is $100. But lacrosse equipment is a great Christmas gift. Or Easter. So 2 helmets would be about $45. And you need a bunch of mouth guards. You need about 5 mouth guards. Mouth guards are around 5 to 15 dollars. So 5 mouth guards are around $50. And a suggestion from me is to get a mouth guard with a lip protector. This is what you need to know about equipment.
