The Giving Tree

In the book, the Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein, I think the boy and the tree have an unbalanced relationship. In the book, the Giving Tree, the boy gets everything he wants, but at the same time he is taking the trees self away.
One way that shows that the boy has an unbalanced relationship with the tree is when in the text it says, “I want some money said the boy, but the tree didn’t have money so she said take my apples and sell them and then get the money. This part shows that the tree has an unbalanced relationship with the boy, because the boy is always getting what he wants, and the tree is being very generous and letting the boy take parts of herself away.
Another way that shows that the tree and the boy have an unbalanced relationship is when in the text it says, “I want a house”...then the tree said “take my branches and build a house. This part shows that the boy and the tree have an unbalanced relationship because the tree is trying her best to make the boy happy so he can have a happy life and have what he wants.
My final way that shows that the boy and the tree have an unbalanced relationship is when in the text it says, “I want a boat that will sail me far far away”...then the tree said, “take my trunk. This part shows that the boy and the tree have an unbalanced relationship because it seems like the boy knows that the tree loves him but he still wants to sail far far away from her.
