Chapter One - Boy in Trouble

Slam! The door squeezed shut. “I’m home!” Brandon hollered.
I groaned. Brandon is my little brother. He’s Mr. Smarty Pants at school. But at home--  It’d be quicker to list the things he hasn’t done.
In other words, I have a terribly annoying life.
I’m practically the opposite of him. I’m usually in detention at school but at home I’m always well-behaved. The only thing that we have in common is: We love to prank.
I made a mad dash for the bathroom. The ketchup bottle I had was now in hand. I squirted all over the white toilet seat. Now all I had to do is wait for a groan.
I’m Kyle and welcome to my pranking life.
Brandon groaned. Ever since Brandon challenged me to a pranking competition we promised not to tell on each other for  pranks. It was 2-2 counting the prank I just did.
Now all I had to do is finish him off with one more prank.
Actually, now that I think about it, it can’t be some minor prank; it had to be something big.
I couldn’t help laughing at him when he came out of the bathroom. He must’ve tried to get it off because it was all over his hands and shirt.
“Can it Kyle,” he growled.
I had to bite my tongue to stop myself from bursting into laughter.
I heard my mom storming up the stairs. She was probably going to ground him because he is not allowed to tell me to shut up in any way. I sneaked up to his door to eavesdrop.
“You’re not allowed to tell your brother to shut up,” mom scolded.
“But I-”Brandon started.
“And Brandon,” Mom cut him off,”wash yourself, you look disgusting.”

Chapter Two- An Invitation

Now I burst. I couldn’t hold in my laughter any longer. I just couldn’t stop laughing, I was laughing hard. I fell to the floor and rolled to my room so my room so my Mom couldn’t see me. Once I got there I quickly shut the door and- Click!
I turned around to find a Nerf bullet stuck to the window. It had a note pinned on it. It read:

Dear Kyle,
Meet me at pranking base at you know when. I hear you got your brother good; but your last prank has to be better.
From,
You-know-who

“That must be from James,” I mumbled to myself. I quickly opened the window and took the bullet off the window.
I ran down the stairs and then released something. If this wasn't James I would be pranked. This could either be me winning or me losing; and if I lost…

That Would Give Brandon Bragging Rights Forever!

Whoo, that’s too horrible to think about. I started out the door. I saw the bush about one hundred yards out. Now you’re gonna ask: Why have your base in a bush? Well what do you expect a wooden tavern?
Anyway I had to be very cautious because, as I stated before; If it wasn’t James, it was a prank, and if it was a prank... I lost.
I entered the bush.
“Wait, Kyle!” someone yelled. I tripped on some sort of rope. I quickly slid into the bush. “Ha Ha very funny,” I say. James appeared out of the very back of the bush.
“I was expecting more of a, ‘Hi James thanks for giving me a heads-up because I almost accidentally pranked myself’,” He said. I rolled my eyes.
“Come on in,” he said sarcastically. So I entered as if I hadn’t heard the sarcasm in his voice.
“So,” I said once we were inside of the bush,”what’s up?”
“Oh nothing much!” he exclaimed. “I came up with a new idea for a prank.”
“Of course you did,” I mumbled, “you always do.”
He pointed to my prank journal. “Grab it,” he said.
I did as I was told and grabbed it. I handed it to him along with his nerf bullet.
“Thanks,” he half whispered. He grabbed a pencil out of his pocket.
“You see,” he said, “to be a good prankster you have to know how to come up with pranks. Right?” he asked.
“Right,” I replied.
“Wrong,” he told me. “You can just take other people’s pranks.”

Chapter three - New Plan

I started to go out of the bush. James said that to make a plan you don’t have to make a plan; he was looking for Brandon’s prank notebook. He found it but the people you team up with can’t physically do anything so he told me where it was and he wants me to steal it from Brandon.
I entered the door to the house. I was expecting a prank but it never came. It was actually kind of surprising. I kind of always expect a prank because I am always pranking other people. My brother popped out of nowhere with his pranking journal. He put it on the table and ran back to his room. I quickly swiped it and went to bed.
Chapter four - Going to School

“School … one of my favorite places,” I sarcastically mumbled.
When I woke up I had just grabbed my phone and went right there. The reason for this I needed to get there early to set up my prank.
I took Brandon’s prank but modified it so that it was my prank.
“Hey!” someone shouted, “Stop!”
I was so startled that I stopped dead.
“So what’s up?” someone asked.
I turned; it was only James. I sighed.
“So,” he repeated, “What’s up?”
“The sky,” I muttered, “Sorry,” I said.
“So,” he said, “you ready to prank?”
“Ya,” I replied.
“Well hurry up then we have a prank to set up,” he said.
I still have to prank Brandon.”
So we walked down the hallway until we found a good place to set up the prank. Now you’re wondering: how did you get into school so early? Good question. I went through the back in the basement. How did James get in? He probably vandalized the window. I set one of the bags of goo in one corner of the deep brown hallway and the other one on the other corner. I opened the funky brown door to the next hallway. I tied the string to the door stop. He would trip over the string causing bags of goo to fall. He would be covered in goo. I looked at the clock. Ten minutes until the bell rang. I ran back to the lobby and
then …
I tripped over the end of the rope. I looked up the knot wasn’t undone but it was close to being undone. I ran faster. Now all he had to do is set it off.

Chapter five - Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner

I spotted him. He is a better prankster so he might recognize the prank.
“Hey Brandon,” I called, “Come here I have something to show you.”
No response. I jogged toward him.
“Brandon, come here,”
This time he ran over.
“Follow me.”
Together we ran straight towards the prank. I saw the prank. He didn’t. That is a good sign. I kept running. We were about a foot away when he noticed the prank. He tried to slow down but he couldn’t stop his momentum. He tumbled over the rope, and the goo splattered all over him.
Principal Nicholis walked over to us and said, “Boys, are you ever going to get detention for this!”
I groaned but in the inside I was jumping for joy. I had finally won the pranking competition!
